Hearst Castle
Hearst Castle is quite impressive. Hearst began building this incredible estate in 1919. Affectionately called La Cuesta Encantada (The Enchanted Hill), he partnered with the prolific architect, Julia Morgan, who was impressive in her own right as a pioneering female in a male dominated industry. There are several different tours offered featuring different aspects of the estate. Make your reservations in advance to ensure you get a spot in your tour of choice. One or two tours per visit is plenty. Photo Credit: R. Poker

Sensorio
Bruce Munro’s epic art installation of over 100,000 lights. A truly stunning way to enjoy a sunset (or Sunday sunrise). Stroll through the main exhibit Field of Light or upgrade to a Terrace View for a comfortable seat during the sunset. And don’t miss his other exhibits, like Light Towers, Fireflies, Gone Fishing, and the latest Dimensions. We were skeptical until we tried it. Wandering through a crisp fall evening with hot chocolate was lovely. We think the general admission is fine. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait in the line to get in. Photo Credit: R. Poker
